Threetooth puffer, Triodon macropterus, ventral view with boat silhouette at the surface. Is the only living species in the genus. Other members of the family are known from fossils stretching back to the Eocene. Its a rare fish species that lives on Indo Pacific from 50 to 300 meters deep. It has a distinctive shape, with a huge belly flap as large as or larger than its body; it inflates this with seawater when threatened. Philippines.. Composite image
