About fifty years ago, due to a strong storm that hit the island of Capri, a large high voltage pylon placed near the lighthouse at Punta Carena, was uprooted by the strong wind and fell into the sea. Spiny starfish (Marthasterias glacialis) and sponge (Sarcotragus foetidus) between red gorgonian (Paramuricea clavata) that have colonized the crossbars and uprights of the trellis.
