Usually solitary birds that pair up during courtship, keeping the same partners for life.

Eye of a Southern White-faced Owl ; Medium sized nocturnal bird with prominent ear tufts and characteristic white face, edged with black. Found in savannah, open woodland and riverine woodland. Extremely big eyes, for excellent night vision. Owls can turn their heads about 270 degrees in either direction to follow the movement of prey. Eats mainly insects but small rodents, mammals and birds might also fall prey.
