Japanese eel, Anguilla japonica. Showing fluorescent colours when photographed under special blue or ultraviolet light and filter. Its muscle fibres produce the first fluorescent protein identified in a vertebrate. It's totally different” from other fluorescent proteins. For example, instead of producing light with a chromophore that is part of the protein sequence, as the classical Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) does, UnaG fluoresces when it binds a naturally occurring small molecule called bilirubin, a breakdown product of haemoglobin used in hospital tests for decades to assess liver function and diagnose diseases such as jaundice. Fishermen landing giant Bluefin tuna off Italie ; Ancestral fishing of the tuna in the Mediterranean Sea, the "mattanza" is always practised on some islands of Italy. Endowed with a unique and spectacular character, this fishing consists in capturing the tunas of the Atlantic Ocean on the trajectory leading to their reproduction. To intercept them, the men install offshore the "tonnara", a labyrinth of nets. Once, trapped, the fishermen surround the tunas of their boats and proceed to their killing. The mattanza, almost disappeared from the Mediterranean Basin.

Coloration of a cast of a human dissection ; From the time he was very young, he has dissected, sketched an sculpted
everything he notices during his hikes. While completing studies in biology,
he worked on perfecting his moulding and painting techniques. Today he serves
art and natural history museums by restoring collections or making educational
moulds and models. First he sculpts and models the subject. With the help of
elastomers an resins, he then casts his creation. Next comes the most delicate
phase : giving the animal or plant realistic, lifelike colors.
Applicatons for biology and medicine: superficial neck muscles (epoxy resin).
