The vineyard of La Geria, on the island of Lanzarote, Canary Islands. La Geria is the wine region of Lanzarote where thousands of small semi-circular walls (called zocos) are spread over the volcanic soil (basalt slag), each one sheltering a single vine stock from the constant wind and collecting the condensation of the night fog. This creates a very original and characteristic landscape of this arid island.

Agents SIVAP inspecting wooden blocks on a freighter ; The KNS factory (KNS SAS) on the peninsula Vavouto near Kone is a gigantic operating nickel project, located in the midst of a fragile natural environment already affected by the installation of the plant. Drastic measures are taken to prevent the import of alien species from ships engaged in the material. All goods and containers, wooden blocks, etc.. are inspected SIVAP (Food and Veterinary and Phytosanitary Inspection Service), and insect control interventions conducted by a specialized company. The inspection rate is very high, about 90%, everything is inspected and any sign of life is destroyed. The ship Sabrina Scan, from Malaysia, among others included a board spiders, ants and snails. An entirely new protocol was created for this type of operation, completely new in 3 steps: control of goods and containers on ships and once landed, and finally the storage platforms. [AT]

Construction of the nickel plant KNS Vavouto New Caledonia ; The KNS factory (KNS SAS) on the peninsula Vavouto near Kone is operating nickel a huge project. Assembly kit from parts made in China, the plant forms a monumental construction site employing thousands of people from around the world, including China, Korea, Indonesia and the local staff came across the New Caledonia . The majority of these personal lives on site at the "base camp" for a maximum period of one year before finding a staff housing. The nearby urban "VMT" (Voh-Kone-Pouembout) is exploding to accommodate the influx of workers (residential, commercial centers ...). The mining sector is the largest employer in the archipelago, which has 30% of world reserves of this mineral (which represents 90% of exports from New Caledonia).
