The bird is a Ruffed Grouse (Bonasa umbellus) and has been photographed in Jacque-Cartier National Park in Quebec (Canada) where its abundance is very high. Very surprised by the proximity of this meeting, I lay down on the floor a few minutes to be at its height. I then opted for the wide angle to put it in its environment: the boreal forest. Then I continued my hike to leave it alone. Galliformes are very territorial during the bridal period and come quickly to meet us in areas where they are not hunted. The bird is a Ruffed Grouse (Bonasa umbellus) and has been photographed in Jacque-Cartier National Park in Quebec (Canada) where its abundance is very high.
