La Graciosa and the Strait of the Rio to the north of Famara on the island of Lanzarote, Canary Islands. The bushes in the foreground are euphorbias (Euphorbia balsamifera) Famara is the main mountain range in the north of the island of Lanzarote in the Canary Islands. It is the eastern slope of a volcano that erupted in the Miocene. The Famara cliffs (Risco de Famara) are the emerged remains of a caldera of about ten kilometres in diameter centred on the south of La Graciosa. The whole of the Famara cliffs and its coastline are part of the Chinijo Archipelago Natural Park. Lanzarote, Canary Islands (Spain)
