Protective pontoon in front of Le Pilier, the tallest remarkable oak tree in the Forêt de Tronçais. The pontoon measures 47.5 metres (height of the tree) and allows access to the foot of this age-old tree, avoiding trampling. Walking around the tree is prohibited, thus protecting its roots. In addition, the pontoon is marked with milestones indicating the various ages of the Pillar, from its birth to the present day. Le Pilier: over 200 years old; height: 47.50 m; circumference: 3.30 m. The Tronçais forest is considered one of the most beautiful oak forests in Europe. It was awarded the Forêt d'Exception label in 2018. This label is a guarantee of excellence - Allier - France
