It is commonly known as the latticed stinkhorn, the basket stinkhorn, or the red cage, is a species of mushroom in the genus Clathrus, in the Phallaceae family. It takes the form of a latticed lantern with polygonal, irregular, elongated, red-coral and then orange meshes. In the Middle Ages, it was also used by sorcerers and spellcasters. It is not lethal, but inedible and nauseating. France
