Hermaphroditic palm civet (Paradoxurus hermaphroditus). Digested coffee beans excreted in the faeces of this species produce Kopi Luwak, the most expensive coffee in the world. When the beans pass through the animal's digestive system, they undergo a kind of fermentation due to the action of enzymes and stomach acids that break down certain proteins into smaller molecules. The result is an incomparable sweet flavour... but it is rare, with production limited to 230 kg per year.
