The mimicry satanic leaf-tailed gecko (Uroplatus phantasticus) was one of our target species during our mission in madagascar. This species is quiet common but really hard to spot in the wild. After several night or search we finally were lucky enough to spotted it. This wild individual was photographed during the night in the Mitsinjo natural reserve. Red Indian fish, Pataecus fronto. Note big pectoral fins that look like 8 finger hands and help the fish to move and grab among the sponges and corals. It is a relatively rare species and we don't know much about it's biology. But it has been discovered that, like the snakes, it regularly moults. When it grows, or the skin is old, it changes it as if it were a used outfit, in one swoop, getting rid in the meantime of the parasites and the encrusting weeds. Australia. The spider-tailed horned viper (Pseudocerastes urarachnoides) is a species of viper endemic to western Iran which was described in 2006. The head looks very similar to that of other Pseudocerastes species in the region, but the spider-tailed horned viper has a unique tail that has a bulb-like end that is bordered by long drooping scales that give it the appearance of a spider. The tail tip is waved around and used to lure insectivorous birds to within striking range. The spider-tailed horned viper (Pseudocerastes urarachnoides) is a species of viper endemic to western Iran which was described in 2006.
