Comet Moth on trunk - Ranomafana Madagascar ; Madagascar Moon Moth is the largest of the Malagasy Lepidoptera and one of the largest in the world. The male can be 20 cm in length including tail. Athough not uncommon this species, like much of Madagascars wildlife, is threatened by habitat destruction. Collection for the pet trade is also an issue as this species is difficult to breed in captivity.
