Stephan Vitzthum has been passionate about nature since childhood and he now teaches Science of Life and Earth in a high school in Nancy, France.
He is specialized in macro photography; insects and batrachians are his favorite subjects.
As he is deeply saddened about the fast deterioration of our environment, he uses his pictures as a mean to raise awareness among the population: exhibitions, lectures with slide shows, websites...
In June 2007, he published a book in collaboration with Michel Renner: “Amphibiens et Reptiles de Lorraine” (“Amphibians and Reptiles from Lorraine”), by the Serpenoise editions. This book is a summary of 10 years of photography with more than 400 new pictures!
