Paulo de Oliveira

I was born in Lisbon in 1954 and started my professional life around the age of 20 dedicating myself to the commercialization of tropical fish imported from Singapore and Brazil. At about the same time I began to photograph in aquarium and underwater all the underwater life. In 1979 I began to work in documentary film making and filmed several TV documentary series for Portuguese (RTP) and French (RTF) television. Simultaneously I worked about 15 years as a professional diver.

In the early 1990s I began to extend my photographic work to terrestrial nature in general and I was also interested in high-speed photography.

I have published 6 books and I have thousands of images published all over the world in articles, books and websites. I have photographed and filmed a bit on all continents and oceans. At the moment I am mainly interested in the underwater life and the pollution problems of the oceans.
