Sergio Hanquet (born in Belgium in 1962) is a name associated with the Canary Sea. An persistent spirit, a heart devoted to the beauty of the islands. His books, photos and person are the living testimony of the authentic freedom that breathes beneath the surface of the ocean. No one knows better than him the seabed of the archipelago. To realize his last publication (BUCEAR EN CANARIAS 2) he plunged on more than 400 different sites. But his true passion is the "blue", going out with his boat Chaxiraxi II, to meet pelagic species.
Photographs of protected species such as cetaceans and turtles were made with the authorization of the Ministerio de Medio Ambiente de Gobierno de España.
He is a self-taught photographer and his main objective is to capture the images of an encounter, a moment or an event lived, without artifice but with personality. What he likes in nature photography is the contact, the emotions, the smells and the adrenaline he feels every time he takes a picture.
