The Monal site and Mount Pourri in autumn. Mistakenly called Mont Tourné or Mont Thuria in the writings of the time, Mont Pourri is located on the northern slopes of the Vanoise where it dominates the hamlets of La Gurraz and Le Monal in Saint-Foy-Tarentaise. Its altitude, which reaches 3,779 metres, makes it the second highest peak in the massif behind the Grande Casse (3,855 metres). Alps, France
