Canary pines and sea of clouds on the island of Tenerife. Canary Island pine (Pinus canariensis) is a magnificent endemic species of the archipelago, very resistant to fire and colonizing bare volcanic soils, like here basalt flows of the Teide - The northeast trade winds regularly cause the formation of a dense sea of cloud on the slopes of Teide, strato volcano on the island of Tenerife, in the Canary Islands.
