Fire in open dump Saint-Pierre and Miquelon ; Nothing is done to disappear both foul landfills open always present in Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, and in addition to disfigure the landscape and pollute convey a very unflattering picture of the archipelago. Sorting waste is non-existent in Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, the entire cast is loose in these discharges and partially burned in the open, of course without the slightest fume filtration, when the winds are oriented towards the sea, and not to the islands or to their Canadian friends in Newfoundland. Going through these discharges, walking on layers of accumulated waste for decades, burned or not, more or less polluting and biodegradable. A composting plant was built close to the "Dampe" Saint-Pierre. But no manager in sight, and the building is for the moment completely unused. Besides the excitement of the most lucrative projects, preservation of the environment is a minor concern in Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, or deeply rooted habits do not change easily.
