Sylvain Cordier is a French wildlife photographer, with a passion for capturing rare moments in wildlife. He has travelled the world, from the Amazon forests to the polar coasts, in search of authentic and moving scenes.
His first expeditions date back to the 1970s, with trips to Amazonia and Papua New Guinea. In the 1980s, he began working with iconography agencies, consolidating his career as a professional photographer. His approach goes beyond simple illustration: he is as interested in emblematic species such as the polar bear or the leatherback turtle as he is in the more discreet animals of our fauna, such as the European roe deer.
Based in Obernai, Alsace, Sylvain Cordier has published several books, including La vie des oiseaux with Vincent Albouy and Alain Guerrier, with a preface by Allain Bougrain Dubourg (Flammarion, 2005). His photographs are regularly published in specialist magazines.
