Sergi Garcia Fernandez explores marine and terrestrial wildlife, revealing natural forms, textures, and behaviors.

Sergi Garcia Fernandez was born in Barcelona, where he first worked as an architect before turning to photography. Initially used to document his architectural projects and models, photography became a creative tool in its own right when he began capturing his diving experiences. His first underwater shots, taken with a compact camera, marked the beginning of an artistic approach focused on nature.

Today, his photographic work highlights marine and terrestrial wildlife, with particular attention to composition, textures, and shapes. Some of his series are inspired by Gyotaku, a traditional Japanese technique for depicting fish, which he revisits with a contemporary approach. His style combines graphic rigor, inherited from his training in architecture, with naturalistic observation to produce images that reflect both the aesthetics and diversity of the animal world.

Biosphoto | 2016506 | Stinger Jellyfish on white background inspiration Gyotaku ; It is inspired by the Gyotaku, a traditional Japanese method of fish printing, dating from the mid-1800s it was used by fishermen to record their catches, but has also become an art form in itself. I tried to apply it in photography. I think it's a great relationship between underwater photography, sea, art and history of the fishermen. | © Sergi Garcia Fernandez / Biosphoto
