Robert Haasmann is a nature photographer based in Austria. His work focuses on wide open spaces and the relationships between humans, wildlife, and landscapes. Spending nearly 300 days a year in the field, he travels to polar regions, mountains, and forest areas in search of images that reflect the diversity of natural environments and animal behavior in their ecological context.
His projects have taken him to Alaska, Scandinavia, New Zealand, and Slovenia, where he documents brown bears, northern landscapes, and island environments. He uses a wide variety of techniques, from camera traps to panoramic shots and long exposures, to capture both the presence of animals and the atmosphere of the locations. His images seek to combine naturalistic rigor with aesthetic standards, without artificial staging.
In addition to his photography, Robert Haasmann leads trips and workshops that combine fieldwork with the transmission of knowledge about ecosystems. His photographs are regularly published in the specialist press and featured in exhibitions and books dedicated to nature. His work contributes to a better understanding of sensitive environments, from the Arctic to European forests, and highlights the need to preserve these fragile spaces.
