Patrice Correia, known as Paco Como, is a French wildlife photographer based in the Var region, where he founded his gallery in Cotignac. From his early teens, travel became a driving force in his life. But it was in the early 2000s that his career took a deep turn: on a trip to Nepal, he discovered the existence of tigers in the Terai jungle. This shock awakened in him a dormant passion for wildlife and photography, which would never leave him.
He returns to Nepal every year, sharing the life of local communities and tenaciously photographing this fragile yet majestic nature. Alongside his partner, he tried to initiate anti-poaching campaigns, before having to withdraw for security reasons. The experience left a lasting impression on his commitment.
Since then, Patrice Correia has divided his time between France, Asia and above all South Africa, where he spends several months a year in the Kruger Park. His sober, elegant photography blends bird portraits, savannah scenes and misty atmospheres. A finalist in several prestigious competitions and published in Terre Sauvage, Géo and Le Figaro Magazine, his work is discreet, on the borderline between testimony, contemplation and militancy.
