Óscar Díez Martínez is a Spanish nature photographer. Self-taught, he developed a passion for wildlife and landscapes from an early age. It was during his honeymoon in Kenya in 2002 that he discovered wildlife photography, a revelation that led him to buy his first digital camera in 2005.
Specialising in bird and mountain photography, he stands out for his ability to capture unique moments in nature. His approach is to discreetly observe animals in their natural habitat, often hiding in blinds, to capture authentic and moving images.
Among his most notable achievements, his portrait of a griffon vulture, taken in the Ordesa and Mont-Perdu national parks in the Spanish Pyrenees, won a prize in the 2010 Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition.
An active member of associations such as AEFONA (Spanish Association of Nature Photographers), FONAMAD (Madrid Association of Nature Photographers) and SEO (Spanish Ornithological Society), he also shares his expertise as a guide on photographic trips.
His work has been recognised in various international competitions, winning prizes and honourable mentions in competitions such as Nature Photographer of the Year, Glanzlichter, ASFERICO and the La Pedriza mountain photography competition.
