Olivier Gutfreund is a French naturalist photographer from Alsace who specialises in wildlife. He has been interested in nature since childhood and uses photography to immortalise his observations. His method is based on careful observation and respect for animals, using blinds and camouflage nets to avoid disturbing them.
His work highlights authentic moments, revealing the beauty and fragility of the species he photographs. He has won several awards, including the Grand Prix at the Rambouillet festival in 2021, first prize for birds at the Namur festival in 2020, and first prize for mammals at the Egletons festival in 2018.
In 2024, he was guest of honour at the ‘200 photographs for nature’ festival, where he presented his images of Alsatian, Swiss and German wildlife. Through his photographs, Olivier Gutfreund seeks to share his passion and raise public awareness of nature conservation.
