Michel Poinsignon is a passionate French naturalist photographer, originally from Lorraine, where he currently resides in Moselle. He has been observing wildlife since the age of 15, an activity that brings him peace and wonder. He favours a discreet and respectful approach, endeavouring not to disturb the animals he photographs. His practice is based on meticulous observation and considerable patience, often devoted to prospecting before each shot.
Although he is particularly attracted to ornithology, Michel Poinsignon is also interested in mammals, predators, flora and the microscopic world. He likes to capture decisive moments, animal behaviour, moods and emotions, playing with light and conveying the beauty of nature. His images are mainly taken in Lorraine, with a few taken in Scotland and Hungary.
