Martial Acquarone is a photographer and guide with a passion for volcanic landscapes and ancestral practices linked to the land. His vocation was born during a trip to Iceland, when he witnessed the eruption of a volcano. Since then, he has explored the power of the natural elements through sensitive, uncluttered photography. In 1985, he organised the first Icelandic photo safari, combining geological observation and aesthetics. Every summer he returns, guiding enthusiasts into the heart of the land of fire. Settling in the Languedoc region, he also became a charcoal-maker, perpetuating the charcoal-making tradition. Martial is a committed witness: his images tell of an indomitable nature, but also of the human hand that composes with it, with respect and humility.
