Explore Laurent Laveder's astrophotography, capturing starry skies and nighttime landscapes with precision and authenticity.

Laurent Laveder is a French photographer specializing in astrophotography and night landscape photography. Formerly trained as a scientist, he has developed a rigorous approach to imaging, focusing on the precise capture of celestial phenomena and natural lighting conditions. His work is based on advanced technical mastery of long exposure, low-light contrast management, and composition in nocturnal environments.

His images combine terrestrial landscapes and astronomical phenomena visible to the naked eye, such as the Moon, the Milky Way, the planets, and star trails. He favors natural environments with low light pollution, particularly coastal and rural areas, in order to enhance the visibility of the night sky. Laurent Laveder also produces thematic series around specific celestial events (eclipses, comets, planetary conjunctions), documented with precision and anchored in their geographical context.

His approach is based on rigorous documentation, anticipation of weather and astronomical conditions, and constant attention to the visual balance between sky and ground. He works exclusively from real shots, without adding external elements, guaranteeing the authenticity of the scenes photographed. His iconographic corpus is regularly used in scientific, educational, and cultural publications, particularly in the field of mediation.

Laurent Laveder is a member of the international collective The World At Night (TWAN), renowned for its high standards in landscape astrophotography. His images help raise awareness of issues related to preserving the night sky and reducing light pollution.

Biosphoto | 1254960 | Variations of the inferior mirage Glénans Britain France ; It was during a cold February morning that these photos were taken. Taking advantage of the relief of Kermil beach in the seaside resort of Beg Meil, the photographer took pictures at different heights relative to the sea: from 1.5 m to 20 m<br>Flush with water (top picture), only the tallest structures on the island of sheep appear: lighthouse, wind, summits of the island. They seem longer than in reality because they are confused with their relfet by a mirage. Thus, it is clear the island floating above the sea, and be symmetrical about the horizontal. As the photographer climbed onto the beach, the picture becomes clearer and reflections fade: San Nicolas Island finally reached the sea | © Laurent Laveder / Biosphoto

Biosphoto | 1159812 | Complicated halo consisting of several bows ; The cirumzénithal bow is not very contrasted. But there is a more interesting thing to be seen: a supralatéral bow and same a supralatéral bow of Parry. The first one is hardly visible, forming a circle centred on the Sun tangeant in the cirumzénithal bow. As for the supralatéral bow of Parry, it is the very visible multicolored part situated on this big circle, in 45° to the right of the Sun. According to statistics established by German observers, this last halo is visible hardly once a year! | © Laurent Laveder / Biosphoto
