Jean-Michel Labat is a French photographer who has lived in Paris since the late 1980s. He shares his studio with the “Frigos” in Paris, where he contributes not only his wildlife work but also by photographing the lives of the other artists there.
Most of his work focuses on wildlife photography in Africa. For almost twenty years, he has spent around four months a year on expeditions to Kenya, including several series published in magazines and exhibited in venues such as Byblos and the Galerie du Quai Voltaire.
Specialising in black and white, he produces large-format series on a variety of subjects (elephants, cheetahs, rhinoceroses).
