A graduate in graphic arts, Gérard Soury is a French photographer, journalist and naturalist author, specialising in underwater photography and the study of large marine animals. A keen diver, he has devoted his career to observing and documenting marine species, in particular dolphins, whales, sharks and other giants of the seas.
Since the early 1980s, he has worked with specialist magazines and regularly appears on national radio and television channels. His commitment goes beyond photography: he gives priority to training the younger generation, the ones who hold the keys to tomorrow's seas.
The author of some fifteen books and guides on large marine animals, Gérard Soury has published works such as Géants (2013), Requins en liberté (2001) and Dauphins en liberté (2003), which have been translated into several languages and distributed internationally.
