Frank Deschandol and Philippe Sabine are two wildlife photographers from Normandy. Their collaboration began when they met in the field, in the Seine estuary, while observing and photographing birds. Together, they have developed a demanding approach to nature photography, based on their knowledge of species and environments, and complemented by the production of documentary films on birdlife, which have won several awards at specialized festivals.
Versatile, they are interested in a wide variety of subjects: birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, and invertebrates. Their practice is also based on technical mastery. They design their own specific devices, such as high-speed shutter systems, enabling high-speed flash photography to capture the behavior of discreet or nocturnal species. Their work regularly takes them to explore different natural environments, from Normandy to more distant destinations, to document often overlooked species such as bats and certain reptiles.
Their photographic work is part of a scientific and educational outreach program. Their images are regularly published in specialized press, included in reference books, and presented at thematic exhibitions. They also participate in projects to raise awareness about biodiversity and sustainable development, in partnership with major environmental initiatives.
