Swiss naturalist photographer Christian Fosserat delicately reveals the intimacy of wild nocturnal birds of prey.
Christian Fosserat is a Swiss nature photographer and videographer who has loved nature since childhood. A carpenter by trade, he devotes his spare time to observing and highlighting wildlife, with a marked predilection for nocturnal birds of prey - owls, great horned owls - which he has been photographing for many years.
Self-taught and inspired by masters such as Sebastião Salgado and Frans Lanting, he discovers in photography an art of the moment, guided by a simple philosophy: "The true nature of animals is to be free and wild. Rejecting intrusive practices, he refuses to use heavy mounts and prefers the lightness of a monopod, blending into the landscape to capture moments of life without disturbing his subjects. He multiplies his scouting, waiting for the right light, the right gesture, the right atmosphere. Respect for the living is at the heart of his approach.
