Brigitte Marcon captures wild and human life with sensitivity, immersion and a profound freedom of exploration.
A self-taught photographer with a passion for nature, Brigitte Marcon discovered her vocation in 1987 during her first voyage to Iceland. This wild land was to be the starting point for a lifetime of photography and exploration. Since then, she has travelled the world - Alaska, Borneo, Australia, Chile, Namibia, South Africa - always guided by the same desire: to blend into nature, to observe it patiently, to translate it with sincerity.
A member of the Biosphoto agency since its inception, she shares its demands, editorial choices and rigour. A finalist in the BBC Wildlife Photographer of the Year competition (endangered species category), she has exhibited several times at the Ménigoute festival, notably on seabirds and great apes.
While wildlife photography remains at the heart of her commitment, India has opened up a new path: that of human encounters. Five trips there brought her back, amazed by the generosity of the people. Her vision has evolved without betraying her approach: to be forgotten, to observe without disturbing, and to capture true emotion. Today, she is exhibiting alongside Jean-Jacques Alcalay, her creative partner along the way, and working on a joint book.
