A photographer of the infinitely small and the great outdoors, Alberto Ghizzi Panizza explores the magic of life.
Born in Parma in 1975, Alberto Ghizzi Panizza is an Italian photographer renowned for his exceptional mastery of macro and landscape photography. Heir to an artistic sensibility passed on by his painter grandfather, he began drawing and painting as a child, before discovering his passion for photography in 1997 during a trip to Egypt. A precursor of the digital image, he adopted this technology in 1998, experimenting with a camera of just 0.06 megapixel.
His work, fueled by a deep interest in nature, explores the animal and plant worlds as much as vast celestial landscapes. Winner of numerous awards, in 2012 he won first prize in the Oasis International Photo Contest. His photo “Les libellules heureuses” (Happy dragonflies), which has been broadcast internationally (The Guardian, Discovery Channel, National Geographic...), perfectly illustrates his technical and poetic approach, using focus stacking to reveal beauty invisible to the naked eye.
A Nikon ambassador and professor at the Nikon School, he collaborates with numerous institutions such as ESO and takes part in photographic expeditions around the world - from Namibia to Iceland, via Chile and Tanzania. Vice-president of the Associazione Travel Photo Experience, he also works to share his passion within the photographic and travel community, hosting conferences, exhibitions and specialized workshops.
