September 2026 wildlife photos: nesting birds, rare species and landscapes from France and beyond.
Our September 2026 collection reflects the richness of wildlife, captured with precision by our nature photographers. In Lorraine and the Gers, nesting scenes take centre stage, such as the Black Woodpecker (Dryocopus martius) photographed at its nest by Christophe Florin and André Simon, and the Great Cormorant (Phalacrocorax carbo) feeding its young.
Mammals and insects from the French countryside also feature prominently: the Roe Deer (Capreolus capreolus), the Red Fox (Vulpes vulpes) by Franck Fouquet, and the rare Rosalia Longicorn (Rosalia alpina) captured by Monique Morin on a beech log. In England, Frédéric Desmette documents the Common Cuckoo (Cuculus canorus) and the Brown Hare (Lepus europaeus).
This international scope confirms our generalist focus: reptiles and amphibians from French Guiana by Vincent Premel, colonies of King Penguins (Aptenodytes patagonicus) and Black-browed Albatrosses (Thalassarche melanophris) in the Falklands by Martin Zwick, and a melanistic Black Leopard (Panthera pardus) hunting in Kenya by Pierre Vernay.
The set is rounded out with topical images: the partial solar eclipse of 12 August 2026 by Yann Avril and Olivier Sauzereau, and the Var wildfires during water bomber operations.
