This new monthly selection brings together a broad set of natural history images documented with scientific accuracy, covering a wide diversity of species, environments and behaviors. Terrestrial wildlife, birds, landscapes, macro invertebrates and underwater scenes are represented, with constant attention to taxonomic identification, ecological context and geographic location. The accompanying captions provide reliable information on species, interactions and habitats, meeting the requirements of scientific, editorial and educational illustration.
Large African mammals feature prominently, with multiple scenes of lions, elephants and leopards photographed in Kenya and South Africa by Pierre Vernay, Christophe Ravier and Patrice Correia. Behaviors such as hunting, movement and resting are shown in natural conditions, while European wildlife is illustrated through numerous images of birds in winter or breeding periods, notably by Frédéric Desmette, Christian Cabron, Michel Poinsignon and Stéphane Vitzthum.
Aquatic and underwater environments form another strong axis of this collection. Series produced by Franco Banfi and Sergio Hanquet document trophic interactions, marine biodiversity and volcanic or reef habitats, from the Mexican Pacific to the Canary Islands. Images by Montgomery Gilchrist, Gabriel Barathieu and Roger de La Harpe further enrich the selection with pelagic species, rarely observed invertebrates and arid or nocturnal landscapes of high documentary value.
Finally, South America is well represented, particularly Colombia and French Guiana, through the work of Régis Cavignaux and Vincent Premel. Amphibians, reptiles, insects and tropical birds are photographed in clearly defined contexts, contributing to a rigorous, up to date natural history image collection suitable for publishing, specialized media and scientific communication.
