This April intake expands the catalogue with images spanning a wide geographical and taxonomic range, from the ponds of the Sologne to the cloud forests of Ecuador, the reefs of Mayotte and the Galápagos Islands. Brigitte Marcon contributes a particularly noteworthy series on the hummingbirds of the Choco Andino, documenting several species in active foraging behaviour with scientific precision: the Sword-billed Hummingbird (Ensifera ensifera), whose bill is the longest relative to body size of any bird species, alongside the Buff-tailed Coronet (Boissonneaua jardini) and the Sparkling Violetear (Colibri coruscans). Claudius Thiriet brings images from the Galápagos, illustrating the courtship displays of the Magnificent Frigatebird (Fregata magnificens), the thermoregulatory postures of the Marine Iguana (Amblyrhynchus cristatus), and the century-old Giant Tortoises of the El Chato reserve.
In France, images by Christophe Perelle and Bruno Guénard document the spring breeding migrations of amphibians, with European green frogs and spiny toads making their way to reproductive sites. Michel Rauch, working in the Vosges du Nord Regional Nature Park, captures species interactions in woodland habitats, while Yann Avril records the mass stranding of sea stars along the Côte d'Opale following the spring tides of 21 March 2026. Gabriel Barathieu rounds out the selection with an underwater series from Mayotte, featuring Bigfin Reef Squid (Sepioteuthis lessoniana) photographed on night dives alongside the coral gardens of the southern lagoon.
